Serial interfaces are not always accurate for downloading things like BIN files. That's why even the original ConZult software gives you two speeds at which to download the BIN file. Even then it may not be accurate. If using a serial interface and my software, I would recommend downloading a BIN file with the car off and the key in the ON position. I'm very anal about accuracy in rom data. With either interface, I would only trust a BIN that was downloaded for use as an eprom burn, regardless of the interface used, after I have downloaded it three times and compared each bin with a hex editor in compare mode. Tuning individual values in real time with something like a NISTune is no problem though.
